Explore Peru by air, sea and land for eight exciting days discovering the archaeological, cultural and natural treasures of the country. Get to know the mysterious Nazca lines from the air, discover from a ship the abundant fauna of the wild Ballestas Islands and explore the ruins of the Inca Empire and the beautiful colonial cities founded by the Spanish conquerors.

Lima:  The capital of Peru is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and enjoys a large architectural complex with places such as the historic Casa Aliaga, the cathedral and the Larco Museum.

 

Nazca Lines:  Observe from the air these mysterious geoglyphs of animals and geometric figures that have been in the middle of the Nazca desert for more than a thousand years.

 

Ballestas Islands:  Discover this maritime sanctuary in the Pacific Ocean where sea lions, penguins and birds like the pelican find refuge.

 

Cusco:  The ancient Inca capital is a mixture of pre-Columbian ruins and Spanish colonial architecture. Visit to the Coricancha Temple, the Cathedral and the surrounding ruins of  Sacsayhuamán and Qenqo, Puca Pucará and Tambomachay.

Machu Picchu:  The lost city of the Incas is hidden on the top of an Andean peak and offers views not only of the mountain range but also of the mysterious Inca past.

Itinerary

DAY 1

Day 1 | Arrival to Lima

A mobility, accompanied by a guide, will pick you up from the airport at the established time to transfer you to your hotel in Lima. 

DAY 2

Day 2 | Lime

Explore the old town of Lima, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, full of fascinating historic buildings. Start with a tour of the colonial center, which radiates from the Main Square visiting the Cathedral and the Aliaga House. Continue to the Larco Museum, which is located in a beautifully restored viceregal mansion. Finally, head to the “Parque del Amor” in the Miraflores district, where you will appreciate the cliffs with a great view of the Pacific Ocean. 

DAY 3

Day 3 | Lima – Paracas – Flight over the Nazca Lines

You will be transferred from Lima to Paracas by bus. You will arrive at the Pisco airport for a 1-hour and 30-minute flight by plane over the desert and observe the mysterious Nazca lines, composed of figures that form a monkey, a spider, a condor and more. If the weather conditions or the airspace permit permit, the recent findings in Palpa will be flown over. Upon completion, you will be taken to the hotel in Paracas, where you will have lunch.

DAY 4

Day 4 | Paracas – Ballestas Islands – Paracas – Lima

A mobility will transfer you to the Chaco station; boarding point for the boat ride to the  Ballestas Islands;  Nature reserve of beautiful geological formations, impressive animal fauna and lags of pre-Inca cultures. The Ballestas Islands are inhabited by endemic birds, pelicans, sea lions, Humboldt penguins and other species that find a refuge in the archipelago. At the end of the tour, you will be transferred to the bus station to return to the city of Lima.

DAY 5

Day 5 | Lima – Cusco

You will arrive at the Cusco airport, where a mobility will take you to the selected hotel. A representative will inform you about the attractions and services that the city has and, finally, will assist you with your check-in at the hotel. The city tour in Cusco begins in Coricancha, built by the Inca Pachacutec and that with the arrival of the Spaniards became the base for the construction of the Convent of Santo Domingo. You will continue your tour of the Plaza de Armas where you will appreciate its architecture and the imposing Cathedral. Continue to the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, the archaeological site of Quenqo and PukaPucara which means “Red Fortress”.

DAY 6

Day 6 | Cusco – Ollanta Station – Machu Picchu

Your tour to Machu Picchu begins with a train trip to Aguas Calientes, the last stop before entering the remains of the most important archaeological site in Peru. After a short bus ride you will reach the lost city of the Incas: Machu Picchu. Return to Aguas Calientes for lunch at Café Inkaterra. You will enjoy free time in the afternoon. Overnight in Aguas Calientes.

DAY 7

Day 7 | Machu Picchu – Ollanta Station – Cusco

You can return to Machu Picchu optionally and visit any of the attractions that the citadel keeps: the Intipunku (‘Puerta del Sol’), climb to Huayna Picchu (subject to availability of spaces), where the ´Temple of the Moon´ is located or You will be able to know the Inca Bridge, stone construction that served as entrance or exit of the citadel. In the afternoon you will transfer to the train station of Aguas Calientes to start the return to Cusco.

DAY 8

Day 8 | Cusco – Departure Lima

Breakfast  at the hotel. A mobility will take you from the selected hotel to the airport. A representative will assist you during the journey.
